READY TO ROLL
Ready to Roll is the title track of the album with biographical undertones referencing drummer Jerry Sheffield, Chief Percussion Officer throughout the lyrical content.
Awaiting instruction from Mission Control, for all systems go. Let the countdown commencement begin and… Welcome to the show!
Cyber Surfin’
Cyber Surfin’will take you on a roller coaster ride through a digital wormhole. The electronic percussion is over the top while the digital surf is up!
Question Why
Even Benjamin Franklin warned the general public to question authority because…
Wisemen have no answers/Though they question why/The tendency to stretch the truth spins a web of lies
Modern Model
Modern Model is an observation of the fashion industry and why does it promote the exploitation of minors in high fashion advertising? The song written in 1981, back when the modeling industry began exploiting celebrity minors to pose in a seductive manner. This practice still continues a generation later. The song reflects societies tolerances.
Edge of Tomorrow
Out here on the edge of the Universe/Life is so wonderful it couldn’t get much worse.
Edge of Tomorrow served as the working title for the album. The band is putting on the polishing touches before it unveils the freshly minted CD the virtual digital showroom.
Scheme of Things
BALANCED ROCK invites the listener to dream grandiose thoughts and ideas. Every great idea began as a spark in someone’s imagination.
In the grand scheme of things/No one knows what the future brings/Stretch your mind and spread your wings/And fly away… It’s indescribable, irreversible and in explicable, to dream such a thing.
Cradle to Grave
Cradle to Grave a rousing song that begins with the lyrics, I have been a blind marching fool/From the cradle to grave/Well that is what I have always been told/I have followed by all the rules/Of this home of the brave/Which only turned my heart into stone. The middle eight interlude features the virtuoso lead guitar playing of John Crawmer, worth the venture through life’s journey.
Blondie
Blondie she can make you smile, she can make time melt away. The thing about Blondie is she has hair that glows in the shade. Singer/songwriter George Ulrich sets an alluring tone provocative yet refined. Relax, this number strikes an exquisite tone.
San Luis (Instrumental)
San Luis is the oldest town in Colorado, established April 5, 1851. Renown for the natural beauty of the Sangre de Christo mountain range, wild horses roam free on the Wild Horse Mesa reminiscent of the unbridled wild west. John Crawmer’s searing lead guitar sends chills up the spine!
Blind Trust
Hidden away under lock and key/In a blind trust I will never see. Just about sums it up!
Tribal Survival
Tribal Survival sets priorities straight paring everything down to survival instincts. Somehow somewhere, I lost my intuition/In between oblivion and Timbuktu/But if truth prevails I fear the premonition/My sense of survival will be missing too.
Sad Day
This is BALANCED ROCK’S response to address the intolerance of violence that permeates society n some of it’s darkest episodes. We advocate a cyberbully-free agenda and reject any form of prejudice.
